So in my last blog I noticed there were a few misplaced words; i.e. sad in the place of said. Bare with me please:)
I had said in my previous post that I was gonna blog about celbs and crazy events in my life and the world. But for the most part I wanna talk about things I'm interested in; traveling, books, movies, music. I am a girl so of course, I love shopping, clothes, make-up and men;) And I figured I would just share my thoughts on products that I've tried, and which one's work great and the one's that don't. Maybe I can help someone through my experiences.
Today I went and bought a bottle of Woolite. This is a product I swear by! If you love clothes, and have a lot of unique pieces, like I do; Woolite is for you! I started using it about 2 years ago. I was iffy about buying it at first, 'cause I had never had anyone tell me how great it is, and imo it's wonderful! I use it on everything, from delicates to tees to jeans and even our bed sheets. It keeps fabrics from shrinking, stretching, fading, and becoming rough. In fact it's so gentle on your fabrics, you don't even need a fabric softener. You know what I mean about rough? Like when you put on a cotton sweater and it feels more like a wool one! Because it's so gentle on your fabrics, it's gentle on your skin, which is great for me; I have sensitive skin.
About 2 months ago, I purchased a bottle of the Tide total Care, because I could not find Woolite at the particular store where I was shopping. I figured Tide was a good product, I see a lot of people use it, and it smells good, so I thought "I'll give it a try." Bad idea; after the first couple of washes, I began breaking out in hives! I was mortified. I had recently been put on a round of antibiotics, so I thought it could have been an allergic reaction to it. But after speaking with my dermatologist, the doctor who put me on the medication, I found out that skin reactions to it, are very rare and much more serious than what I was experiencing. So I figured it had to be the Tide. That stuff was so harsh, not only did it fade my clothes (that I had been washing for years in Woolite); it gave me a rash that lasted for weeks after I discontinued use of the product. The rash did not respond to anything over the counter and I had to be prescribed another topical by my derm.
Well when I went to visit him, he suggested that I try All Free and Clear, so I did. It's a wonderful product for those who suffer with sensitive skin. I bought a bottle as soon as I got home. Though it is free of harsh chemicals, and skin friendly, it is not very fabric friendly. I washed a new shirt with it and afterwards the shirt was visibly faded and a bit mishapped. Also the fabric was still a bit rough, so a fabric softener is needed with this detergent. The liquid kind is recommend for those with sensitive skin, for it washes out of fabric while the dryer sheet kind, are more or less dried into the fabric, leaving harsh chemicals on clothes, that can irate skin.
Basically, if you have sensitive skin and want your clothes to stay newer longer, use Woolite. It's the same price as other detergents, free of harsh chemicals, skin and fabric friendly, and a fabric softener is not needed. If you have sensitive skin and don't really care about keeping all of your clothes, other than your delicates, in good shape, use All Free and Clear, with a gentle liquid fabric softener.
9 times out of 10, skin problems are due to chemicals in our clothing.

My next post is going to be tips for dry and sensitive skin care.
